10 year anniversary

Years ago I would have said that for our 10 year wedding anniversary I would want to take an exotic vacation for 2. Well, reality and 2 kids later it was more like a 1 night stay in Dallas was the perfect way to celebrate. Especially since we just went to Vegas not too long ago and that was enough for now. On Sat July 7th, (the day after our anniversary) we dropped the kids off then drove down 2.5hers to Dallas. We first HAD to eat at our favorite In-N-Out Burger (so yummy) then we went to get pedicure together at a nearby salon. Yep, I talked Jeff into getting one too since I knew he would love it. It was very relaxing getting pampered and not being on a time schedule. I let Jeff pick out my polish color and he picked the brightest orange in the place and I loved it. Then we went to Fry's electronics store and drove around for a while before eating dinner at a seafood place. Thanks to a friend of mine, we stayed at a really nice Hilton hotel for only $40 and it was very swanky with a great view from the 12th floor. Sun morning we slept in then went to have lunch with our friend Wes who lives down there then we went to the Container store. I have been wanting to check it out for a long time but wasn't that impressed. On the way home instead of taking the interstate we took the back highway and enjoyed seeing all the little towns along the way.

July 4th 2012

We had a great 4th this year. On Tues the 3rd we went out to the country with Jeff's friend from work to blow up fireworks. The 4th is like Christmas for Jeff so he get so excited to buy fireworks and always spends WAY too much money. We had a good time out there doing our own and the boys thought it was super cool. We went to my mom's house for a cookout then that night I took Jensen to watch fireworks with our neighbors. Jeff stayed home with Jorden so he could get to bed on time.

Jorden making a splash
The boys had a great time playing in the water in Mimi's backyard and they made a waterslide with the little pool
Jorden lighting a little sparkler

Jensen lighting smoke bombs

The hearing protection we got for the monster trucks last winter really came in handy since the fireworks were loud

We watched fireworks in a parking lot and the dumpster near us caught on fire and it was a huge blaze. Some guys with water hoses were able to put it out before the fire dept arrived

June 2012

We have been having a great summer and have been trying to have as much fun as we can squeeze in

Jorden riding his "motorcycle" and his helmet he put on all by himself.....backwards ha ha

Grandpa Mayhle got a little inflatable pool so he can take a dip. They had fun splashing him even though I told them to stay out since we didn't have swimsuits on

On an overcast day, Jamie and I decided to take the kids to Frontier City amusement park. Even the little ones had a blast riding rides and the big ones were brave enough to ride all the rollercoasters

Jensen and Jenna on the canoe ride. We had so much fun we bought season passes

Even though it was 105 degress outside Jorden insisted on wearing his snow hat silly kid

Jorden eating yummy watermelon
Jensen is going to join boyscouts and this was our first activity-
Kite flying and watermelon at the park

We were supposed to make a kite but that didn't happen so we bought one at the dollar store and it flew really well

Jeff and Jensen had fun flying the kite together

Vacation 2012

I couldn't wait to take the boys to Sea World in San Antonio. We drove about 8 hours to get there on Wed May 30. We check in to our hotel and went for dinner at Peter Piper Pizza which had lot of games to play and earn tickets. The plan was to do Sea World in two days but the weather was so great and there were no lines so we saw everything in 1 day. We had dinner with our friend Junior who moved down there and we went to the Riverwalk. The boys thought it was really cool getting to stay in a hotel and really like the "alligator" as Jorden called it (elevator). It was a great family vacation
Small pull out bed the boys shared- it did not work very well so Jorden ended up sleeping with us

The boys LOVED the rides and even little Jorden rode a lot since he thinks he's as big as brother

Shamu Show

Feeding the dolphins was super cool

Jensen loved the splash pad

Saying hi to the diver in the shark tank

We rode a 3D ride on the Riverwalk and you had to shoot skeletons

May 2012

Jensen learned to swim without a life belt

My brave fishy boy Jorden
First snow cones of the season

The girls got to spend the night at our house while Jerry and Jamie celebrated their 10yr anniversary

Jensen has several animals he sleeps with at night and they have to be arranged in a certain order when he gets tucked in......rat, cat, snake, dog, sheep. I blame Jeff for this weird one! :)

Jamie and Kim
Our friend Kimberly came in town for a visit from Arizona. We hung out at her parents house to celebrate her sister Kyli's highschool graduation.

3 musketeers! Me and my two besties

Kim's husband Bez is great with the kids and they loved being thrown in the pool

Girls night out at Chili's

Kim is expecting her 2nd child in December so we threw her a surprise baby shower

Touch a Truck 2012

This is the 5th year for Touch a Truck the event MOMS Club of Edmond started as a cool community event for our kids and a fundraiser for the food bank. Even though I moved 2 years ago I'm still passionate about it and help out any way I can. This year was another big success. We raised about $3500 and had at least 2000 people come out to look at the 40+ trucks.
