Jensen and I at Mother's Day tea at school

Mimi got Jensen an ant farm and after buying harvester ants online we put them in their new home

After just one week the busy ants made lots of tunnels. Sadly they all died after about 3 weeks

 

Jorden got his stitches out and it was awful. I think worse than getting them in

The boys did swim lessons twice a week in May and this was Jorden's first time

Jorden loves the water and is very brave

Glad someone thinks I can cook!

Jensen got a special crown for reading 100 books this school year. He made it to a 3rd grade level!

My neighbors and I organized a parade and block party. It rained a little at the start but it was a big success

We bought Jensen a painted horseshoe on the school gym wall

The camping trip that never was!

We were so excited to take our first camping trip as a family with cub scouts on May 18th. They were doing a camp really close to our house and we bought a tent and all that gear that goes with it. We got there early Saturday morning in time for breakfast, did the flag ceremony then Jensen went to start his activities while we set up camp. They did lots of fun things and even Jorden got to participate in everything. We had dinner then our end of the year graduation ceremony but the weather got really stormy so everyone packed up and left. We are glad we did though since it stormed really hard a few hours later. So maybe the next time we camp we can actually spend the night. I did enjoy sleeping in my own bed though :)

Jensen really loved the Archery too. I tried it and got a huge bruise on my arm from doing it wrong oops

It was super hot and humid. Besides BB guns and Archery they also did kick ball
Frisbee, map reading, hiking, and camp songs

April 2013 Random

Cheddar not helping put away groceries

 

We went horseback riding with cub scouts at Lake Thunderbird.
Jensen rode alone and Jorden rode with me which was really uncomfortable
We dropped both of Jorden's boots and my camera on the trail so someone had to go back for them

Jorden's horse pooped and he thought it was hilarious. He did really well on his own

The same day as the horseback riding we went to a OKC Redhawks baseball game.
The scouts got to go on the field for the flag ceremony

We had our first trip to the ER with Jorden on April 29th
He was playing on a skateboard in the driveway and banged his chin on the concrete
I knew immediately he needed sewn up and sure enough he got 6 stitches at the new hospital nearby

Everyone was amazed at how calm and cooperative Jorden was

I went to a scrapbooking retreat with two of my Edmond mommy
 friends and got a lot done while having some me time

Jeff's Grandma Cassie fell and was in the hospital so we went to see her

Girls Cabin in the Woods

It was time for a girls trip again so 9 of of my good friends and I drove 4hrs away to a cabin in the woods in Broken Bow, OK. We relaxed by the campfire, soaked in the hot tub, ate junk food, lounged in our pjs, went to a winery and had old time photos taken. It was a fantastic way to relax and get away from mommyhood.

Our cabin was amazing, fully furnished with beds for 12. Very peaceful

Our car ride was side splitting fun with these two crazy girls Nicky and Edye.
It wasn't so fun though when we got pulled over and Nicky got a $220 speeding ticket

We went to Girls Gone Wine winery and tasted some yummy wines then sat on the patio

I walked the Glow Run 5K with some friends. It was held after dark and we wore glowing accessories.
Our team name was the Flaming Marshmallows

We look the boys to the lake after school to search for buried treasure with
the metal detector and shovels Mimi game the boys

We took a day trip to Stillwater to eat at Eskimo Joe's and take the boys to a kids museum

Grandpa Mayhle took the boys for an afternoon of fun at the Myriad Gardens and boathouse parks

Jensen got the kid of character award at school which was a big deal
