Jorden's first haircut

I couldn't stand it any longer, Jorden needed a haircut. It was getting thick in the back and was starting to look like a mullet plus the top was uneven. I really like taking Jensen to Doc's Barber shop in Edmond so we had Jorden's 9 months pictures then headed over to the barber shop. The place always reminds me of those barber shops you see in the movies with man paraphanalia everywhere and guys sitting around reading the paper and yakking. Jorden did very well and didn't seem to even notice the clippers Tom used to trim his hair. Made me a little sad though that my baby is growing up already!
Before picture
During- I'm sure the guy I recruited to take these didn't
know he was going to be photographer that day ha!
After with Tom the barber, he kind of reminds me of my dad with hair
(ha sorry Daddy!)
I learned first haircuts are free at Doc's
You can see all the man paraphanalia on the walls.

July Random

Jorden 9 months and Julia 6 months- they are getting a lot closer in size!

Jensen's basketball team at their last game. He was so proud of his medal

We waited 9 loooong months for the new Crest grocery store to open down here. We had one in Edmond that we loved right outside our neighborhood and I HATE buying groceries at Walmart. It finally opened and they have fun green cars for the boys to ride in while we shop

Pool Party at Aunt Jamie's
Jorden is in a pink pool wearing a pink diaper cuz he's so manly he can pull it off!

Cute videos

Here are some recent videos taken on my digital camera. The first one is of Jensen when he had a bloody nose and fell asleep sitting at the table holding a towel on it. Cracks me up! The next one is Jorden doing the sign for "more", he's such a smarty and I'm so proud! The last one is Jorden doing his trick he learned. When you ask him if he's cute he turns his head and grins and it's so sweet!

July 4th 2010

The 4th of July is like Christmas for Jeff, it's his favorite holiday. He loves buying lots of fireworks and blowing stuff up. I am less enthused about it but he enjoys it so I just have to make sure he doesn't spend a ton of money on them. For the second year in a row, this normally hot and dry holiday has been very rainy. I don't mind it since it's not blistering hot. During the day, before the rain started we took the kids to a nearby park where they were having 4th of July activities. Jensen got to ride carnival rides and play games and I got to eat a huge yummy cinnamon roll. There was a booth raising money by spray painting peoples' hair for a dollar and we tried to convince Jensen to do it but he said no. So, we decided to paint Jorden's hair instead! It looked so cute and everyone who walked by commented on how cute and festive it was! We had a great family day and left right before it poured.

They had a giant sandbox under a tent with lots of sand toys for Jensen to play with

Jorden and Mommy with feet in the sand

Jensen played a fishing game and ended up with several fun prizes

He loved the rides and Jorden enjoyed watching

I love this little patriotic guy! Too cute!

Once Jeff buys fireworks, the challenge is finding somewhere outside of city limits to shoot them off. This year, his friend Scott let us go with him to a relatives house who lives about 45min north of our house. If we still lived in Edmond it would have been very close.....figures since last year we lived up there and drove way south! It rained all the way up there so we were worried we wouldn't be able to do it but it cleared off all but a few sprinkles here and there. There were other families there doing fireworks too so we got to see plenty and since it was wet the risk of fire was much less ha! By about 9pm Jensen was done and asking to go home but he enjoyed them a lot more this year than before.

Some of the fireworks wre loud and Jensen asked Daddy to help hold his ears
Happy Birthday America!

Baby Dragon

This video is a little dark since it was taken on Jeff's phone but it's hilarious! Jorden has learned to growl at Jensen and they were going back and forth

Jorden 8 months

I'm in trouble because little Jorden is on the MOVE! He started crawling a few weeks ago and is now pulling up to stand. I can no longer leave him on a blanket on the floor because before I know it he's gone. He likes to pull on the blinds, splash in the cat water and eat crumbs off the kitchen floor! He crawls kind of funny though because instead of pushing with is left knee he uses his foot and his right knee. He's such a happy baby and eats really well. He has even started some finger foods like peas, meat sticks and baby snacks. Jorden is taking two good naps a day but that can be kind of a bummer because we generally stay home during those times. Thank goodness he will nap in a pack and play though so if we are going to be at someone's house he will nap there.

I can stand in my crib! He has an ornery little grin on his face!

He pulls on the blinds so we started raising them up and he loves to look outside

For the longest time he did a little scooting thing with his feet so I wasn't sure when to officially call it crawling

First time pulling up- he looks so proud

Big brother is not supposed to get in the crib but it was too cute!

Jorden's first time at the splash pad was really fun. I couldn't believe how much he loved it even when the water splashed in his face

Here's a video of Jorden first learning to crawl, not sure if it is working though so sorry if you can't get it to play

Jensen the basketball player

Jensen didn't enjoy soccer at all last year but this summer we decided to try basketball at the Y. I think he might enjoy t-ball too but that is a lot of standing around plus I didn't want to sit outside in the heat of the summer. His basketball team is all 4yr olds and they play games on Monday evenings. From the start, Jensen went right out and played and wasn't shy at all. That is a huge change from last year! He has a lot of fun even though he has no idea what to do. Something unusual is that each kid wears a colored arm band and they can only guard the player on the other team with the same color. This gives the kids a chance to play without a big pile up on the kid with the ball. It confuses a lot of the kids though because they think that person is on their team. Jensen is very preoccupied by the arm band and is constantly messing with his while they play. His very first game was so cute because when the player he was guarding got the ball, he tapped the kid on the shoulder and asked for it. We laughed so hard about that one!! They don't even keep score though and everyone gets to play so it's all for learning. He has quite a cheering section with Mommy, Daddy, Jorden, Grandma and Grandpa, Mimi and Carrie and last week Jerry, Jamie, Jenna, Jillian and Julia whew!
He thinks you have to show the other person you have the matching arm band and he does it every game!

Baby brother Jorden is a great supporter and likes to watch Jensen play

First team huddle up
He's taller than all the other kids but the two girls on his team play a lot better than all the boys!

Daddy giving Jensen a little coaching
(I don't think his coach is very good but it's just for fun I guess)
