State Fair 2010

We love the Oklahoma State Fair and were excited to take Jorden for the first time. I remember last year when we went, I was 9 months pregnant and we went so our house could be shown to a potential buyer. They ended up buying it which is great but man I was in pain after walking around the fair ha ha! Jeff ended up having to work all night so he had Friday off. After getting some sleep and after Jensen got out of school, we went while it wasn't too crowded. We saw and did lots of things. We walked through all the buildings, saw a dog trick show, did some spin art, saw the clowns, saw the pig races and petted some animals. On that trip, I only ate chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick and Jeff had chocolate covered cookie dough on a stick. Jeff's not into all the food so I was glad I got a chance to go with my friends to eat all the yummy food on Sat night.
The clown asked Jensen what kind of balloon he wanted and he said a wienie dog like Mimi's dogs so he was excited about his looong black balloon dog....that is, until the middle popped and the butt blew down the midway leaving him with just the head!

Jensen begged the whole time we were there to play games so finally he got to pick 2 games. He picked the water squirting game and he and daddy lost. Then he picked the fishing game and he won a big blow up white dog with blue spots.

Jorden just kind of took it all in and wasn't overly excited about anything but I'm sure next year will be even better

I had a great time walking around the fair and eating the food with my friends. I learned that if you share something it's cheaper and you get to try twice as many foods. I had a corn dog, onion blossom, corn on the cob, fried mac and cheese (super yummy) and ice cream!
So, in two days I did everything I wanted at the fair and I'm done. I'm bummed the space needle wasn't working so I hope they fix it for next year :)

I'll push you Julia

Grandma and Grandpa got a great waterslide for the kids to splash

Lazy days

Jorden is getting old enough to play at the park
So sweet napping with daddy

We have a walker!

Jorden took his first steps the other night. I knew he was getting close and of course just like Jensen he did it while I wasn't looking. We went to Jensen's school for Grandparent's night and Jorden stayed home with Daddy. As we came in the door Jorden took off and I missed it. That's ok though I got the second time on the video below and he's getting more brave each time. It's funny because Jensen was the exact same age when he started walking. Makes me sad he's becoming a toddler *sniff*

August Random

Jorden started doing this funny sniffing thing that is pretty cute. Jensen gets frustrated because even if he sniffs for real Jorden starts copying him by doing this

Sniffy face where he twists his nose up

We went to a cousin's first birthday party at the park and it was a super nice day. The kids had a lot of fun and even Jorden is getting big enough to slide, swing and climb

Don't ask me why he thinks its cool to put this whole block in
his mouth but it's pretty darn funny

Jensen got to have a playdate with his "wife" Jaci. She was our neighbor at the old house and we miss them terribly. On the way to our house her mom Debbie got a hilarious video of her singing about her "husband" Jensen.

The Animals are waiting for you!

We decided to take the boys to Arbuckle Wilderness drive-thru animal park on Sat Aug 21st. Jeff and I enjoyed it as kids and went once when we were dating but haven't been back since then. It was an hour away and a bit pricey at $53 for the 4 of us including 3 cups of animal feed but we had a fun. Jensen didn't enjoy feeding the animals as much as we thought he would so he just watched them through the window. Some of them can get pretty aggressive wanting food. We drove through then went to the walk through part that had a reptile house and some other animals. It was really hot though so we didn't stay long. We took the scenic route on the way home and had a great family day

Jensen completly freaked out when a camel stuck it's head in the window to get food, poor baby!

That was the first animal that came up and he was done after that. He made us leave the window up and even held it with his hand so we couldn't roll it down

Jorden didn't seem to mind the animals but they were a little
intimidating even for Mommy and Daddy
A camel I fed ate the top of the feeding cup

We saw camels, donkeys, zebras, giraffes, deer, buffalo, llamas, emus, ostriches and more
Jorden got to ride in the front seat with me since we were going slow down the trail

Giraffes are cool but we didn't get to feed them

1st Day of Pre-K

Our baby Jensen is such a big kid now. He has gone to mother's day out and preschool but this year he started real school. Moore Schools has a pre-kindergarden program for 4yr olds but not all schools have it so it's a lottery. We signed up in March and picked 4 schools. He got selected for Fisher Elementary which isn't our home school but it's still only 1 mile away. He goes 5 days a week from 9:00-11:30am. He was very excited to go and had no problem getting used to his new school. I'm a little sad he is so grown up especially since they have us just drop them off and pick them up in front but he's having a great time. I am a little sad though that it's only 2.5hrs since preschool and mdo was 5hrs and I could really get stuff done.

August 19th 2010 First Day of Pre-K

Got my bag ready to go!

He will go to Fisher this year and Wayland Bonds for K-6th grade

Mrs. Gappa has 4 boys and her teacher's aid has 4 girls so they are a good team

Jeff's new car

Jeff has been searching for about a year for a vehicle because we can't all fit in his tiny truck and to pick up anything with the following criteria:

  • needs to fit all four of us including the big carseats

  • needs to have a cargo area for hauling stuff

  • needs to be reliable and decent gas mileage

  • needs to not require a lot of maintenance

  • needs to be cheap so we can pay cash

  • needs to be an automatic so I can drive it (yeah, I know I need to learn a stick someday)

That's not too much to ask right :) Well, he finally found a winner with a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser. It's old which worries me but it has a new engine and lots of other upgrades. It's not very good gas mileage but Jeff doesn't drive much and we usually take my Jeep when we go places. He got it for only $3000 then the people who we bought it from wanted to buy his truck for $1200 so that made the land cruiser super cheap! Plus we didn't have to try to sell the truck ...score!
