Jensen is 5!

I can't believe our little baby Jensen Drew is 5 already! When I first became a mommy, kids who were 5 seemed so grown up and it seemed so far away. Now he's a big boy at 47in tall (90th percentile) and 46lbs (75th percentile) and he's all arms and legs with not a squishy part on him which is hard to believe since he was such a chubby baby. He has tons of energy and he's very smart. He's doing very well in public Pre-K and can read 3 letter words easily.
Jensen got to bring a special snack to school on his birthday and I planned on going to get some cupcakes or cookies at the grocery store but Jensen requested to make some cupcakes. Crap I have to be domestic? :) He specified scary Halloween decorations but they were all sold out by the time we made them so we did mini cupcakes with sprinkles instead.
Jensen's birthday was on a Sat this year so we got to have his party on his actual birthday. We invited all his friends and family to the YMCA where they have a party room and a really fun splash pad for the kids. He chose a Tom and Jerry theme and we put whoopie cushions in the favor bags which were a huge hit. Jeff's 81 year old Grandma Cassie even took one so she could play a prank on her sister. That really made me laugh!!

He got some cool presents and really enjoyed opening them up. He got some games, a dinosaur, transformers, Hex bugs, nerf guns, Wipeout game for Wii and a lot more
After cake and presents the kids went out to swim. I didn't even see Jensen most of the time because he was so busy having fun with his friends. Plus, I was chasing little brother Jorden who loves the water and has no fear. Poor baby slipped and fell on the back of his head so everyone was really worried about him for a while. He was fine though and only had a small bruise

Visit from Grandpa Mayhle

My dad came for a much awaited 2 week visit from Pennsylvannia right before Jorden's birthday and we really enjoyed having him here. He came to Jorden's party, we took him to the zoo, went out to eat and went to a Halloween thing. Jensen really likes Grandpa to rough house with him, only problem is he screams so loud it can be annoying ha ha!

Out to eat at Las Fajitas with my family just like old times (plus a couple rug rats)
It was a beautiful day to go to the OKC Zoo!

Halloween 2010

I was really excited to decorate my pretty new porch for fall!

Halloween was lots of fun this year with Jorden walking. I wanted the boys to be dressed as something that goes together because I think it's so cute. I got lucky and my neighbor had a dinosaur costume that fits Jensen then we decided a little caveman would be cute for Jorden. I didn't have any luck finding a caveman costume his size so I did the unthinkable (for me anyway). I made it by hand! I got the idea online then bought some fabric. My mom came over to show me how to work my sewing machine and it was really simple. I got a few accessories at the party store and some face paint and we had a baby caveman and a dinosaur.

A few days before Halloween, we went with Jamie and the girls to a trick or treat thing at a our old jr high and high school and my dad got to come along too so that was great. The kids were precious all dressed up. Jenna and Jillian were cats and baby Julia was a Chick Fil A cow. It was WAY crowded so I don't know if we will do it again next year but we had fun

On Sat, which everyone decided was the day to trick or treat instead of on actually Halloween, (Jeff and I think it's really stupid but what can you do!) we went to downtown Moore for their Halloween thing for a while then stopped at Mimi's to go to a few houses. Jorden wanted to walk and wouldn't hold your hand and insisted on climbing the curb instead of going up the driveway. By about the 3rd house he was having a major meltdown so we hurried to our other stops. Next we went to my childhood neighborhood where my friend's grandma always does a big Halloween thing then we stopped by Jeff's parent's house and finally home. Whew, it's always a lot of running around!! Jensen went into a haunted house and I was surprised he like it and wasn't scared.
We carved a pumpkin but I forgot to take a picture of it when we were done

Jorden is 1!!

We can't believe it's been 1 year already since we welcomed baby brother Jorden. He came in the middle of a mess of moving and chaos but other than several weeks of colic he has been a fantastic baby. 1 in such a fun age and he amazes us everyday with all of his new tricks. He's super smart just like his big brother Jensen doing sign language and immitating everything we do.
On his actual birthday, we took Jorden to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner and playtime with Mimi, Carrie, and Grandpa Mayhle. He had a blast on all the rides and he thinks he's so grown up. We got him a cake and he opened a few presents.

I was surprised how well he did opening presents. At his party though, there was too much else going on and he wasn't interested.

His party was on Sat Oct 23rd at the Moore Library and we did a monkey theme. Our friend Misty made this super cute cake to match the theme and included his own "smash cake". We had bananas and trail mix for a snack and the the kids had monkey cups for favors. I was crafty and made the banner myself

Jorden didn't really smash into his cake. At first he kind of picked at it then someone gave him a fork and he started digging in with it. He shoved some in with his hands but didn't get nearly as messy as I thought he would.
Smooshed cake-he ate a lot of cake

Big boy- Aunt Jamie made this cute monkey shirt with a 1 on it

This is one of his favorite toys, a little learning house from Mimi
He had a great birthday even though Mommy didn't have it together like she should! I planned and planned but forgot to include extra tapes in the camcorder bag and then my camera battery went dead from taking video on it. Luckily other people got pictures and our iPhones really came in handy. It's so sad that my baby is now a toddler!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We love family time at the pumpkin patch and we were excited to take Jorden for the first time. We went to TG Farms in Newcastle on the first Sat in Oct (yeah I'm a little behind). It was a beautiful warm day and not crowded at all. We enjoyed the corn maze, tricycles, petting zoo, hay ride, hay maze etc

Jensen has become a giant this fall! He really has grown at least 5 inches in the last year I think!

Little brother is getting bigger too so it will be fun to compare next year

He did not like to touch the hay and would pull his hands back

sliding is fun! I keep saying we should just buy some hay and a slide and forget about ever getting a swing set out back

Family Hayride

Jensen loves jumping in the hay

Jorden loved petting the little goats

This pumpkin looks like a winner

We scored free pony rides by chance yay! The pony stepped on my foot though and when I pulled it back I couldn't get my shoe out. That pony wouldn't move either so Jeff got a picture of it.

Jensen doesn't normally do pony rides but I guess since brother was he did
