Fire station tour with MOMS Club

Grandma and Mimi wore the same shirt to Jensen's track meet without knowing it. They say "Grandma/Mimi is my name and spoiling is my game"
Aunt Jamie with Jorden and Julia Kate
Jensen had 80's day at school so he dressed in his version of Marty McFly from Back to the Future. His teacher also dressed up and what she wore was hilarious!

Jorden thinks my strainer makes a good hat!
After searching forever I finally found something decorative to hang the boys' art work on in our family room. Jamie found this at for half off and I love it

Holy Tornado!

On Wed May 24th the weathermen had been talking all day about a high possibilty of tornados in the afternoon. Sure enough we had severe weather starting at about 3pm. Jeff came home early and shortly after dinner it started to hail A LOT. Then they announced that there was a possible tornado at 149th and May and we live at 141st and May eeek!! We got the kids in the closet and listened to the weather radio. I came out for a minute when Jeff told me to look out back. I have lived in OK my whole life and this was the first time I had seen a tornado in real life, rightout my back door!

Golf ball sized hail in the front yard
Big hail from the yard
after the storm passed us we let the boys go out and play in the rain since everyone on our block was outside checking out the hail damage. We had all 3 cars outside so they got pretty banged up.
After it was over, we learned how lucky we really were. In other parts of the city huge tornados destroyed everything in it's path and injured and killed lots of people. The saddest story was a family that was taking cover in their bathroom like they should have but the tornado was so powerful it severely injured the pregnant mom and her 5yr old daughter and killer her 3 yr old and 15 month old boys. They couldn't find the 3 yr old for 2 days and it just made me sick to my stomach and hold my babies a lot longer. I just can't imagine.....

Bye Bye Pre-K

Jensen with Mrs. Wiegle and Mrs Gappa

When we were kids kindergarten was a big deal since it was the first time you went to public school. Now that public Pre-K is the norm it's the first year of real school. Jensen really loved half day Pre-K and he learned a lot from great teachers. To celebrate the end of the year they had a little program where they sang a few songs and they gave certificates to everyone for completing Pre-K. They also gave certificates to all the kids who knew all the letter sounds, colors, shapes etc. and we are proud that Jensen was one of those students. He's one smart cookie!

Touch a Truck 2011

This was the 4th year that Edmond MOMS Club did Touch A Truck even though they split last year into two clubs and the East side did the event. It was weird again not being in charge but I made calls for vehicles and was able to get the race cars there and I worked at a table taking donations for the food bank. It was a huge success with 60 trucks, about 3,000 people and $5100 was raised for hungry kids. GO MOMS Club of Edmond-East!!
We had fun taking the boys to see the trucks even though is was a little chilly and windy. Jorden is really getting into seeing buses and trucks so he loved it. His most favorite thing in the world right now is to "drive" anything with wheels.
Jensen and Jorden in front of the science museum truck that had all kind of stuff do do including and obstacle course.
We ran into Alex, one of Jensen's best friends and they enjoyed going in the science museum truck together.

It was really loud with all the kids honking the horns which is what Jensen is doing here

Zoo Fun

After our elephants came back to the zoo, everyone in OKC was so thrilled that one of them gave birth to a 304lb baby girl on April 15, 2011. They named her Malee (May-lee) which is cool because that's my maiden name only spelled diffrently. We went to see her on May 7th and the plan was to go with my mom and sister to celebrate mother's day early. Well, things changed when my mom's work had a fire and she had to go there instead. Me and the boys had fun with Carrie though.

Jorden wanted to hold aunt Carrie's hand even though he was in the stroller
In the children's zoo part, they have some water spouts for the kids to play in. Jorden absolutely loved it and got soaking wet. Next time, I'll bring a towel to dry him off. Look at that face, love it!
Jensen played in the water too

Easter 2011

It's Easter time again and this year was fun since Jorden is old enough to hunt and color eggs. We colored eggs with a kit I got that lets you make them into dinosaurs so that was neat.

Daddy helping out and doing his annual thing of writing the word poop on an egg

Poor Jorden didn't understand why we wouldn't let him eat those yummy eggs. He was crying and repeating egg, egg, egg so we finally let him have one before we were done......
then he was happy!

The Easter Bunny came and left some goodies!

Jensen came into our room while we are still asleep and said excitedly "guess WHAT! The Easter Bunny brought me my own BOOK HOLDERS!!" Really, they were sidewalk chalk in the shape of a bunny and egg and they had a flat bottom so they kind of looked like book ends. We thought that was hysterical he was so excited about bookends! :)

Jensen hunted eggs at school and Jorden got to hunt eggs at the park with MOMS Club. It was super windy that day so we couldn't do a lot of the games we planned but they kids had fun

I found one!

Here, you can have this mommy. I want the candy
We also celebrated with Jeff's mom's family since his aunt was in town from Arizona. It was a beautiful day at the barn on the Neidel property where 3 of the familes live close together. There were 13 kids 8 years and under and they had a blast roaming all over the land finding tons of eggs. My two were the only boys of the bunch so that is funny. We had a nice potluck and enjoyed visiting with everyone.

Jensen's basket was crazy full! I think I have a cavity from eating too much of it
