July 2013

We went to Jeff's co-worker's house in the country to pop fireworks on July 5th

Jorden learned a quick lesson on not touching hot sparklers

On July 4th we were going to watch fireworks but I twisted my ankle on
some rollerblades in the garage and couldn't walk. It really hurt for a long time

Mimi bought the boys a brick at the OKC Zoo with their names on it
They love going to see it when we visit

Jorden was only 3 but he was determined to be like big brother and ride a
bike without training wheels

I bought a play set from a friend who was moving and it turned into a big project
The wood wasn't in great shape so we ended up using it as a template and replacing
almost all of it. Jeff also added a second level. It was super hot and a lot of work but turned out nice

Kim was in town a lot this summer so we did wine and palette together

Yogi Bear Jellystone Park

This summer we didn't take a big vacation but we spent 2 nights at the Lake Eufaula Yogi Bear Jellystone park. A couple of years ago we went to one in KY for my family reunion so we wanted to try the one here. We stayed in a nice cabin with a kitchen, A/C and cable tv. It was the great outdoors with some of the comforts of home. They had lots of stuff to do like an obstacle course in the lake, huge water slide, mini-golf, fishing, antique fire truck ride, paddle boats, and arcade. We had a blast and the boys can't wait to go again.

The boys really loved sleeping in the loft in the cabin

Jensen was the only one who caught a fish

This big slide was a lot of fun, I even loved it

So much fun Jorden was pooped

Inflatable obstacle course on the lake
This slide on the lake was very hard to get up on but Jensen did it

On the way home, we stopped at an old, hidden cemetery where
Jeff's Great Great Grandparents are buried

Fishing, Fishing and More Fishing!

I can't remember how it started but Jeff's latest obsession is fishing. We started going to Thunderbird Lake about 45 minutes away and we fished about a dozen times before even getting a bite. Finally, we tried live bait at a park about 5 minutes away and they started catching small fish. I don't mind this hobby as much as some of his others since its something we can do as a family or sometimes he'll take them and let me do what I want.

Jorden was the first to catch a fish I think

We went to the city of Moore fishing derby and it was pretty neat.
They gave the boys free pole and bait and tips on catching fish.
Jorden was wearing flip flops and he didn't like the wet grass so he stayed on the bridge

We had fun fishing with the girls. Jerry, Jenna and Jillian at the fishing derby
We went fishing at the lake at the zoo and Jensen caught 3 and no one else caught anything
My first fish with Jeff photo bombing me. We had trouble getting the hook out
and it died so Jorden keeps calling me fish killer!

It was really crowded with people right next to you which was a little hard
