Family Easter Egg Hunt

For the second year, we had an Easter egg hunt with Jeff's mom's side of the family at Jamie and Jerry's house. There are about 14 small kids so its really fun to get together. Everyone brought a dish and eggs were hidden for the kids to hunt. It was a big difference for Jensen this year because the last 2 years he didn't really get it and would pick up one egg and be done. This year though, he found 36 eggs with candy, toys and stickers in them. We tried to get a group picture of the cousins but once again this year Jensen refused to get in it. This is the only one with him kind of in it with 1 kid missing and Jensen making a run for it.

Two of the cousins were on a fishing trip with their dad so they weren't there

So tired

I haven't been good about blogging lately since we've been so busy. Jensen had a soccer game again last weekend and he still wouldn't play so that stinks. We had a fun family Easter egg hunt with Jeff's family at Jamie's house on Sat. We had great food and the kids had a great time. Jensen really understood the idea of hunting eggs this year. Instead of picking up one and being done he got 36. I'll post some pictures later....

We started the entryway/kitchen tile project last weekend so I'm living in a huge mess again. Jeff and I keep arguing about how much free time he needs and I want him to get this project done NOW! Jeff's parent's were really nice though and come up on Sun to help. His dad got most of the entryway tiled and we worked on getting the linoleum up off the kitchen floor. It came up easily but the adhesive underneath is awful! You can use this really toxic stuff to get it up quickly but since I am pregnant Jeff bought some weaker stuff that takes forever to work. After hours of scrubbing and scraping the floor like cinderella, Jeff went to buy the toxic stuff and Jensen and I will just have to leave for a few hours. When will we have time for that though jeez? So for now, we are using carboard to cover the sticky part.

I haven't felt too hot this week. Monday I woke up with a cold- sinus pressure with draining and body aches. Jensen got it on Wed so I feel bad for sharing my cooties. I felt better by Tuesday but I've been extremely exhausted and haven't been able to drag myself off the couch. That's pretty normal though since all my energy is being used to grow a human. I go to my regular OB tomorrow for a checkup so I'm hoping we will get to hear the heartbeat to make sure the baby is ok.

Sorry no pictures, I need to get them off my camara especially since my HUGE memory card is full oops.

New Kids on the Block

Yes, I'm the biggest dork- at 30yrs old I went to see New Kids on the Block in concert! I'm not ashamed, it was awesome. I was crazy about them when I was 12-13ish but never got to see them in concert. I wasn't really interested in their reunion but my friend gave me their new cd for a birthday present, mostly as a joke. Well after listening to it, I actually liked most of the songs so when I found out they were coming to Tulsa I was excited to go. My friend Stephanie got the word out to our friends but the ones who wanted to go couldn't since it was a Monday night and in Tulsa. So Steph and I drove up and arrived in Tulsa around 3 and had plans to meet my friends Misty and Leila. That didn't work out so Steph and I went to the mall and to dinner before the concert. It was a packed house and everyone there was a female our age with a few guys or younger girls here and there. The bathroom lines sure were long with all those girls! Some of them were decked out in the New Kids shirts, hat, buttons etc. he he.

The opening act was America's Best Dance Crew winners Jabbawokeez. They were really good with very detailed choreograpy

We had pretty decent seats and it was a perfect mixture of old and new songs all of which we liked. The dancing made me laugh a little because remembering what they were like in the old days, its obvious they don't move like teenagers anymore! It was still really good though and they sounded the same.

Sort of Reunion

Jeff's mom Linda has 5 kids in her family and we get together with the ones who live here around the holidays but recently we have been getting together more often which if fun. Jeff's cousins are all around the same age and now all our kids are close in age so there are lots of cousins for the kids to play with. Linda's sister came in town from Phoenix for a short visit this month so everyone met over at his cousin's house for a impromptu reunion. Except for 3 or 4 cousins that live out of state everyone was there. We ate lots of pizza from Pizza hut and had more deserts than people I think. The little ones had a blast playing together and the adults caught up on life. We took some group pictures but I am sad because Jeff and his brother Jerry left early so they didn't get in the cousins picture and who knows when everyone will be together again.
Brothers and Sisters

Mike, Terry, Charles
Joyce, Linda
Cousins with spouses-minus Jeff and I and Jerry and Jamie

Jeff's cousin Melissa has a set of fraternal twin boys who are 11 and Jerry has twin girls so we got the two sets together for a fun pic

Baby blob

We got to see our new little bean on Friday at my specialist's office. Jeff couldn't go because he had to go in to work at 2am so my mom and Jensen went with me. The Dr just did an ultrasound and everything looks great. We got to see and hear the heartbeat which was amazing! Jensen was really cute and was excited to hear the thump thump. The baby is measuring just what we thought at about 7wks so that makes me due right on Halloween. Its funny because I call Jensen my Turkey boy since he was born so close to Thanksgiving so this one may be a pumpkin boy/girl hehe.
Just looks like a blob at the moment but its a beautiful blob!

Busy Boy

Jensen as been a busy boy lately. Last Thursday, he had school all day then swim lessons at 4:30 then soccer at 6:00. That was a little much! Luckily soccer will only be on Sat from now on and swimming is over tomorrow.

He has been doing swimming lessons for the past few weeks and has done really well. It's a step up from the Mommy and Me class so he goes by himself so I'm really proud of him. He is the most eager one in class especially when it comes to jumping in to the teacher. She said he's so solid though, he has to work harder to stay a float.

Jensen also started soccer last week. His first practice was last Thursday and I think Daddy is more excited than anything! He insisted on getting him a new soccer ball and cleets (I said he could just wear tennis shoes since he will only wear them 2 months but noooo way!). Plus shin guards were required. At practice he was shy at first and wouldn't go play with the other kids. Jeff went with him and after a while he started practicing. That's pretty normal for him, he take a while to warm up to new people.
His first game was last Sat and I was all ready with the video camera. When we got there though, Jensen never warmed up to the whole thing and stayed attached to one of us. The coach kept trying to put him in to play but no luck. Jensen was even crying to go home an take a nap! The other kids playig were so cute though so it was fun to watch. By half time we were tired of it and left saying we would try again next week.

So cute in all his soccer gear

Attached to Daddy and refusing to play :(

When he does decided to play I plan on posting the video of that and him swimming.....if I can figure ou how to put it on here

Using Daddy's screwdriver to work on the cabinet handle- he managed to unscrew it halfway! Hey, it kept him busy for a minute so I didn't care!

What's new

Thanks everyone for the excitement and well wishes for us on Jonesy #2. I went to the specialist twice last week. I already had an appt to talk about my glucose intolerance and they drew blood to make sure my hormone levels were good. I don't have to do anything right now about the glucose except excersise and try to watch what I eat. No special diet yet though. I will be tested for gestational diabetes earlier than most and I will likely have it. I went back on Friday to have blood drawn to make sure my HCG levels doubled in 48hrs. On Tues they were 500 and Friday 1500 so that was very good to hear. We scheduled an ultrasound for March 13 to take a peek at our little bean. If feels like its taking forever to get here!
My friend Kristin was so excited for us she got me a bouquet of pink/blue balloons with a big baby one balloon. It was so thoughful of her!

My friend from school Cindi turned 30 on 2/21 so they got a party bus to take everyone clubbing. I had never been on a party bus before but it was a lot of fun. I had just found out about the baby so I enjoyed it as my last night out for at least a year. Some of my other girlfriends were at Skky Bar in downtown so that was fun to see them.

Silly Jones monkey's with Grandma

Jensen and the girls play so well together for hours and they all love being at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Quick update on the house mess. Jeff finished the the grinding on the hall floor thank goodness and I'm still cleaning up the mess. Even though we masked it off dust got everywhere and I even had to empty out my cabinets and wash all my dishes etc because they had dust on them grrr! Its done though and now we can move on to tiling. If we can only have a weekend free to do it!!

This is what the floor looked like with the the 30yr old tile mortar stuck to it. It might be hard to tell the difference but that stuff was really thick and stubborn.

Nice and smooth after the grinding

Poor Jeff has been working crazy hours trying to move servers and do big updates at work. Last week he went in at 2am 3 nights then 10pm Thurs-1pm Friday. He did get somewhat of a promotion recently. Instead of an IT engineer at Teleflora, he is now an IT architect which I think means he designs instead of builds although he is doing some engineering too. I'm proud of him! Lets just say though that he's kinda tired and grumpy and doesn't want to hear my plans for working on the house!
