February 2012

My friend Ericka moved to Stillwater about an hour away so a bunch of our girlfriends went up for a slumber party at her apartment. We had a great time wearing tacky jammies, eating junk food and having girl talk. I can now say I have slept in the kitchen since that's the only place my air mattress would fit (I'm too old to sleep on the floor)! The sound of the frige can be quit soothing ha ha!

MONSTER TRUCKS! The boys were so excited to get to see the monster trucks in person.
It was loud but they had ear protection that looked cute on them.

Jensen says his favorite is Grave Digger so he was glad to see it.

They thought it was so cool when Grave Digger landed so hard the tire popped

We had great seats right up front

Megasaurus the fire-breathing, car-eating dinosaur was really neat. It ate a whole car in half!

Jeff didn't have to be at work until late on a Tuesday so he got to walk Jorden into school.
He was cute holding his daddy's hand

Jensen and the girls finished the basketball season with medals and ice cream at McDonald's after the last game

I didn't have big expectations but I was very surprised when Jeff gave me this really cute bracelet from Tiffany's for Valentine's Day. I don't normally wear bracelets because they get in my way but this one is so dainty I wear it every day. The best part was he got it for free since his work let him pick something out as a gift for being with the company for 5 years. I thought it was super thoughtful that he picked something out for me!

Mimi got this pedal tractor for Jensen on his 2nd birthday and he rode it some but now Jorden has been riding it a bunch since the weather has been so nice. He looks like a lil farmer and love it

Travis and Mandi's Wedding

Jeff is close to his two younger cousins Travis and Tanner on his dad's side so I've known them since they were 3 and 6 years old. Travis is now 23 (yikes I'm old!) and got married on 2/12/2012. Jenna and Jillian got to be flower girls and we were all exctied for the big day. In the 4 months they planned the wedding, almost everything that could go wrong did and the bride and groom had some pretty unconventional details but the evening turned out really nice. Jorden had a fever and had to stay with Mimi so we were sad he missed the fun
Flower girls Jenna and Jillian- notice the neon green converse shoes!

Half grooms/Half bride cake

I had never seen Orange and Green wedding colors before. The bridesmaids wore different style black dresses with green shoes to match the groomsman's vest and shoes. The bride and groom wore orange and the minister even wore converse shoes.
It turned out pretty unique and not as crazy as I thought it would be :)

Groom's brother- Cousin Tanner and his girlfriend Oliva
Groom's parents- Uncle Terry and Aunt Janet

Bride and Groom in their neon orange shoes!

Julia Kate got the party started by getting out on the dance floor first....she wasn't shy!

1st (and probably only!) snow of the winter

Compared to the blizzards we've had the last few years, this winter has been very mild. Of course our luck we have no snow since Mimi got the boys boots and a sled for Christmas! We have enjoyed the warm temps though and play outside often. We did get a little snow storm on 2/12 that left a few inches of the white stuff. It was the perfect amount to play in but not so bad that school was closed. The boys had fun playing in it

Jorden seemed unsure at first then I remembered that last year
he was little so he didn't really get to play in it
Jensen and Jorden had so much fun being pulled from yard to yard on the sled.
Gave me a real workout pulling 80 pounds!

January 2012

Part of the reason I didn't blog in January is that I didn't take a single picture with my camara the entire month which I think is some kind of record for me. I did take some with my phone though so here they are even though they aren't always the best quality

Jeff and I went to his favorite hang out with some friends for New Years Eve

I saw something on Pinterest that I just had to try.....putting ivory soap in the microwave!
It puffs up really big and stays firm so you can still use it later. The boys (and Mommy) thought is was really cool

Jensen visited the eye doctor for the first time since they tested him at school and said he had 20/40 eyesight. I was really nervous since Jeff has an astigmatism and needed glasses as a kid. Good news was his vision was better than 20/20 so that's fantastic!

Our neice, Miss Julia Kate turned 2 on Jan 19th so we got her a bubble mower. We had a little party at Chuck E. Cheese at lunchtime with some of our MOMS Club friends then had a family party at Aunt Janet's house where we enjoyed going swimming

Chuck E. Cheese ride

Chillin at Grandma's house with Julia

We just love our neighbors across the street the Outon's. Jensen is good buddies with Ryan the youngest of the 3 boys who is only a few month younger. It was the 100th day of school and they had to wear a shirt with 100 of something on it. It was Jen's turn to take the boys to school and she took this picture of them and sent it to me

Christmas 2011

Christmas went by fast but it was a happy holiday for our family!
Jensen and Jorden making cookies for Santa with Daddy
(Mommy is not realy into baking so it's a fun activity with Dad)

I tried a new way to display cards this year. I got the idea on Pinterest (my newest addiction). I put ribbon on my cabinets and clothes pinned the cards onto it

Angry birds hooded blankets from Grandma and Grandpa

My inlaws know me all too well and gave me a great gift.....a whole box of chewing gum. I love it despite Jeff photo bombing me!

The Grandparents thought Jorden needed a drumset.....where are the earplugs!

Jensen's first letter to Santa, it's so cute

The two greatest gifts on earth under my tree

Jensen got a Wii game he wanted and Cars 2 movie from Santa

Jorden got a stick horse and a remote control car from Santa
He also got 3 different tricyles from family, lucky kid :-)

Jeff surprised me with an iPad. I didn't know I needed one but I love it and have already read two books on it. Of course Jeff uses it as much as I do so, ha ha

Jeff got the Jackass calendar he wanted and some beef jerky of course

My Momma cooked a great lunch for the family. Even though they have been divorced a long time I'm so thankful my parents can be friendly so we can all be together
Momma, Carrie, Jensen, Kristi, Daddy and Jorden

Cuties in Matching PJs

Jensen's picture with Santa at Bass Pro
Bass Pro has a lot of fun activities for the kids during the holidays and it's all free

Jorden froze as soon as we told him he was going to sit on Santa's lap. He cried and wouldn't go near him for a while until we convinced him to just stand next to him. This as as close as he was gonna get but he sure looks handsome

December 2011

As always, December is filled with fun activities and we try to cram everything in before it's gone in a flash. I have been wanting to go snow tubing in Downtown OKC for several years and we finally got the chance to go thanks to my mom's company. The tubing takes place at the Bricktown ballpark where they have two slides covered in ice -one big, one small. My mom's company Westquip rented out the place for the evening and fed us dinner. My mom, dad, me and the boys (Jeff had to work) bundled up in our snow gear but soon realized it was unnecessary since it was almost 70 degrees earlier that day. Plus, carrying those tubes up and down the steps really heats you up. It was hard work since the boys weren't strong enough to carry their own so we had ours and theirs to lug The boys had a blast and even little Jorden was fearless enough to ride in the tube all by himself. I got a few pics but it was hard to get a good shot because of the reflection of the snow and everyone moved too fast.
My dad coming down the slide
Handsome Jensen enjoying himself
Jorden being a big kid
My Momma sliding
We got to see Santa on a Segway
WEEE Jensen
Me coming down the slide and yelling at everyone to move Jorden so I didn't knock him over like a bowling pin!
We babysat the girls so we made a gingerbread house with them. I had to try very hard not to be too particular about how they did it since I really wanted it to look like the picture on the box. With 5 eager kids I quickly gave that up and just let let them have at it. Jeff added his own decoration.....a leftover cheeseburger stuck on the roof (who knows why!) The kids thought it was hysterical
Displaying their finished house that lasted 3 seconds before they said "can we eat it now?"
Grandma with her babies
We had our old big screen tv for 9 years so it was time for a new one. Jeff got this 65 inch one on sale right before Thanksgiving. It looks much better and takes up much less room

Jensen and Jorden LOVE staying all night at Mimi's house and they help her bake fun stuff like these cupcakes

Behind but will catch up soon!

Sorry I'm so behind on blogging! I haven't even done Christmas yet and here it is almost Feb. Well, hopefully I can catch up in the next week or so. Jeff built us a newer, faster computer so I haven't had access to my pictures in a long time. Hope all is well
