Jorden is 1!!

We can't believe it's been 1 year already since we welcomed baby brother Jorden. He came in the middle of a mess of moving and chaos but other than several weeks of colic he has been a fantastic baby. 1 in such a fun age and he amazes us everyday with all of his new tricks. He's super smart just like his big brother Jensen doing sign language and immitating everything we do.
On his actual birthday, we took Jorden to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner and playtime with Mimi, Carrie, and Grandpa Mayhle. He had a blast on all the rides and he thinks he's so grown up. We got him a cake and he opened a few presents.

I was surprised how well he did opening presents. At his party though, there was too much else going on and he wasn't interested.

His party was on Sat Oct 23rd at the Moore Library and we did a monkey theme. Our friend Misty made this super cute cake to match the theme and included his own "smash cake". We had bananas and trail mix for a snack and the the kids had monkey cups for favors. I was crafty and made the banner myself

Jorden didn't really smash into his cake. At first he kind of picked at it then someone gave him a fork and he started digging in with it. He shoved some in with his hands but didn't get nearly as messy as I thought he would.
Smooshed cake-he ate a lot of cake

Big boy- Aunt Jamie made this cute monkey shirt with a 1 on it

This is one of his favorite toys, a little learning house from Mimi
He had a great birthday even though Mommy didn't have it together like she should! I planned and planned but forgot to include extra tapes in the camcorder bag and then my camera battery went dead from taking video on it. Luckily other people got pictures and our iPhones really came in handy. It's so sad that my baby is now a toddler!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

We love family time at the pumpkin patch and we were excited to take Jorden for the first time. We went to TG Farms in Newcastle on the first Sat in Oct (yeah I'm a little behind). It was a beautiful warm day and not crowded at all. We enjoyed the corn maze, tricycles, petting zoo, hay ride, hay maze etc

Jensen has become a giant this fall! He really has grown at least 5 inches in the last year I think!

Little brother is getting bigger too so it will be fun to compare next year

He did not like to touch the hay and would pull his hands back

sliding is fun! I keep saying we should just buy some hay and a slide and forget about ever getting a swing set out back

Family Hayride

Jensen loves jumping in the hay

Jorden loved petting the little goats

This pumpkin looks like a winner

We scored free pony rides by chance yay! The pony stepped on my foot though and when I pulled it back I couldn't get my shoe out. That pony wouldn't move either so Jeff got a picture of it.

Jensen doesn't normally do pony rides but I guess since brother was he did

Grandparents Day

In Sept, Jensen got to bring Grandma and Grandpa and Mimi to grandparent's night at school. They got to tour his classroom and meet his teacher. He was so proud! In the hall there was artwork that they had done and a picture that said "my grandparent's are special because..." Jensen said because "I kind of see them a lot!" I thought that was so cute and so true now that we live right next to them. Showing them he sits at the yellow table

Frontier City

Jeff's dad, Big Jerry and his brother little Jerry both work at York (Johnson Controls) and they had a company picnic at Frontier City so we all got to go for free. It was a great family day with Jensen, the girls, Grandma and Grandpa, Jerry, Jamie, Jeff and I (the babies had to stay home though). We went to Lil Partnerland first so the kids could ride the kiddie rides but we didn't stay there long because we had bigger ones to ride. I was really surprised by all the rides the kids were big enough to get on. We started with the pirate ship and even Grandpa got on with us. The tilt o whirl was fun but Grandpa and I both felt sick after. We recovered though after taking a break from the heat to watch a magic show. Then it was on to more rides. I rode the erruption by myself and while I was on it they took the kids on the Wildcat rollercoaster. I was shocked that the kids got on it and that Jensen loved it. I don't think I rode rollercoasters until I was a teenager and he's only 4! The girls weren't as thrilled but they were brave too. We had a blast and will definitely go again next year.

Riding the small rollercoaster- I have a great picture of Jeff and Jensen on the Wildcat but my scanner is down

State Fair 2010

We love the Oklahoma State Fair and were excited to take Jorden for the first time. I remember last year when we went, I was 9 months pregnant and we went so our house could be shown to a potential buyer. They ended up buying it which is great but man I was in pain after walking around the fair ha ha! Jeff ended up having to work all night so he had Friday off. After getting some sleep and after Jensen got out of school, we went while it wasn't too crowded. We saw and did lots of things. We walked through all the buildings, saw a dog trick show, did some spin art, saw the clowns, saw the pig races and petted some animals. On that trip, I only ate chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick and Jeff had chocolate covered cookie dough on a stick. Jeff's not into all the food so I was glad I got a chance to go with my friends to eat all the yummy food on Sat night.
The clown asked Jensen what kind of balloon he wanted and he said a wienie dog like Mimi's dogs so he was excited about his looong black balloon dog....that is, until the middle popped and the butt blew down the midway leaving him with just the head!

Jensen begged the whole time we were there to play games so finally he got to pick 2 games. He picked the water squirting game and he and daddy lost. Then he picked the fishing game and he won a big blow up white dog with blue spots.

Jorden just kind of took it all in and wasn't overly excited about anything but I'm sure next year will be even better

I had a great time walking around the fair and eating the food with my friends. I learned that if you share something it's cheaper and you get to try twice as many foods. I had a corn dog, onion blossom, corn on the cob, fried mac and cheese (super yummy) and ice cream!
So, in two days I did everything I wanted at the fair and I'm done. I'm bummed the space needle wasn't working so I hope they fix it for next year :)

Jorden is getting old enough to play at the park
So sweet napping with daddy

We have a walker!

Jorden took his first steps the other night. I knew he was getting close and of course just like Jensen he did it while I wasn't looking. We went to Jensen's school for Grandparent's night and Jorden stayed home with Daddy. As we came in the door Jorden took off and I missed it. That's ok though I got the second time on the video below and he's getting more brave each time. It's funny because Jensen was the exact same age when he started walking. Makes me sad he's becoming a toddler *sniff*
