The Jones Tongue

Jeff has been well known for some time for sticking out his tongue or making a silly face when you try to take his picture. I believe he gets it from his dad because he is silly sometimes too. Well, Jensen is following the Jones tradition and has discovered that he can be goofy for pictures. It got him in trouble last week at school though because his teacher put him in time out and he stuck out his tongue at her. That got him sent to the office really quick and we were not happy about that! We had a long talk about when its ok to stick out your tongue. Jeff said he didn't get sent to the office until he was in kindergarten! He's getting paybacks for being rotten as a kid but I was a good kid and I don't deserve that LOL!

Jensen had his end of the school year program on Tuesday night and it was really cute. His class dressed up as brown bears and sang a song. I was really surprised he kept the ears on and sang the whole time. I have no idea what the song was though since we couldn't understand a word they were saying since most of them were shouting. I got it on video and you can buy it for $10 so I may see if I can get it on here. Here are some of the pictures I took as he was getting off stage
There's the tongue again!

April Randomness

We got together a few weeks ago to celebrate Uncle Jimmy's 50th birthday. While we were there I finally remembered to do the 4 generation photo I have been wanting to get.

Great-Grandma Cassie, Grandpa Jerry, Jeff and Jensen Jones

We tried out a new McDonald's playland on NW Expressway with the girls and by coincidence Jailey, the daughter of our very good friends, was there with her cousin. The cousin lives in Louisiana and we live in Edmond and it was really freaky how we ended up at that particular McD's (which was not close to either of us) on the same day. The kids had a great time playing together

Jailey, Jenna, Jensen, Jillian......can we add one more J name to the mix or what?!

We love using our pass for the OKC Zoo and it was nice on Friday so Jensen and I met our friends there. I really thought Jensen would be afraid of the huge loud dinosaurs that are on display right now but he loved it and I couldn't get him out of there. They are really neat since they roar and move around. You can see in this pic how tall the t-rex is.

Well I spoke too soon about the soccer. Jensen had a game on Sat and refused to play. I guess he just wasn't in the mood. It was super windy though so we felt like we were getting beat up the whole time. One little girl was close to the goal and it blew over on her catching her like a fish in a net! I felt bad for her but couldn't help but laugh too!

Last Thursday while Jensen was at school we came up with the plan that I would rent this machine from Home Depot that scrapes up linoleum. Well, that didn't work because the thing was too heavy for me to get in and out of the jeep by myself. So, Jeff and his friend Scott went to get it on Sun and that thing was great. It only took about 2hrs to scrape all that yucky stuff up and it got most of the adhesive up too. We still need to clean the floor and get some more of the stickiness up before we lay tile but its a huge step

Jeff and I had a much needed date night on Sat night. We went to see the Lion King broadway show at the Civic Center. They didn't allow pictures but it was a really great show. The costumes and set design were amazing how they made an animated film come to life. I highly recommend anyone going to see it. Maybe not with really small kids though because even though it is from a kids movie it was 2hrs 45mins long and I don't know if they would like it as much as the movie.

He finally PLAYED

We've had about 4 games and Jensen refused to play soccer but last Sat he finally did it! I had to be out there with him still but that's ok. Jeff stayed home to work on the tile so I took him and at first he just ran with the team which was a huge step up from just hanging on to my leg. Then he actually tried to kick the ball and then he kicked it part way down the field, out of bounds and into the next field. I felt like putting up a sign that said "stop forest stop" LOL! He also got to kick off 3 times after the other team scored. I was so proud and even the other parents were congratulating him on how far he had come. It figures though, the time he decides to play Jeff's not there and I have no way to take pictures or video. I hope he continues to play next week so I can capture it. We had team pictures after the game and from the experience of trying to get him in a group picture at Easter I had no hopes of him actually cooperating. He did great though and smiled proudly with rest of his team. Just when I think I have my kid figured out he does the opposite! Guess he's keeping me alert!

Tile progress

The floor tiling project is Sloooowwly moving along. This weekend Jensen and I left so Jeff could use the toxic stuff to try to remove the adhesive. He got some of it done but we have a long way to go. I guess it's not working as well as he thought it would.

Jeff using a blow torch to heat the linoleum so it lifts up easily

Big Jerry starting the tile in the entry way. The walls are not straight and the floor isn't level so he had a heckuva time laying it out right.

Some of the linoleum and glue removed. What a mess
This is as far as we got in the hall. Hopefully we will work on it some more during this week. Cutting the tiles to fit is the hard part

Dr Appt update

Went to my regular OB on Friday for a check-up. Since it was my first visit this time around I just saw the nurse and she took down my health history etc and sent me to get blood drawn and a urine sample. Most people have this appointment at about 6wks so they normally don't listen for the heartbeat on the dopplar machine but since I was almost 11wks I asked her to do it. She said only if I promised not to cry and be upset if we couldn't find it. I had no doubt we could hear it since that's about how far along I was when we heard Jensen. However, I learned that with 2nd babies its harder to find since things are more stretched out.....great! She tried for a long time and used a second machine and finally there it was...... a fast healthy heartbeat. I was soooo relieved since that's the only way to know everything is ok at this point. My bloodwork came back perfect so that's good too.
Since it was a simple visit I just took Jensen with me and came armed with a sucker and some books. Well, that was a mistake! He was fine when the nurse was checking my blood pressure and finding the heartbeat but when I was trying to talk to her he was awful. He was opening the trash, playing with the stirrups and throwing tampons all over the room! The nurse even left once so I could try to get him under control. I wanted to pull my hair out and the sucker bribe did not work! I won't be doing that again

I go back in about 3wks and we should find out if its a boy or girl in about 7 wks so I'll keep you posted! I can't wait!

Family Easter Egg Hunt

For the second year, we had an Easter egg hunt with Jeff's mom's side of the family at Jamie and Jerry's house. There are about 14 small kids so its really fun to get together. Everyone brought a dish and eggs were hidden for the kids to hunt. It was a big difference for Jensen this year because the last 2 years he didn't really get it and would pick up one egg and be done. This year though, he found 36 eggs with candy, toys and stickers in them. We tried to get a group picture of the cousins but once again this year Jensen refused to get in it. This is the only one with him kind of in it with 1 kid missing and Jensen making a run for it.

Two of the cousins were on a fishing trip with their dad so they weren't there

So tired

I haven't been good about blogging lately since we've been so busy. Jensen had a soccer game again last weekend and he still wouldn't play so that stinks. We had a fun family Easter egg hunt with Jeff's family at Jamie's house on Sat. We had great food and the kids had a great time. Jensen really understood the idea of hunting eggs this year. Instead of picking up one and being done he got 36. I'll post some pictures later....

We started the entryway/kitchen tile project last weekend so I'm living in a huge mess again. Jeff and I keep arguing about how much free time he needs and I want him to get this project done NOW! Jeff's parent's were really nice though and come up on Sun to help. His dad got most of the entryway tiled and we worked on getting the linoleum up off the kitchen floor. It came up easily but the adhesive underneath is awful! You can use this really toxic stuff to get it up quickly but since I am pregnant Jeff bought some weaker stuff that takes forever to work. After hours of scrubbing and scraping the floor like cinderella, Jeff went to buy the toxic stuff and Jensen and I will just have to leave for a few hours. When will we have time for that though jeez? So for now, we are using carboard to cover the sticky part.

I haven't felt too hot this week. Monday I woke up with a cold- sinus pressure with draining and body aches. Jensen got it on Wed so I feel bad for sharing my cooties. I felt better by Tuesday but I've been extremely exhausted and haven't been able to drag myself off the couch. That's pretty normal though since all my energy is being used to grow a human. I go to my regular OB tomorrow for a checkup so I'm hoping we will get to hear the heartbeat to make sure the baby is ok.

Sorry no pictures, I need to get them off my camara especially since my HUGE memory card is full oops.
