Monster Garage

I'm behind on blogging since we have been so busy lately.

One of the last big projects we have to tackle in this house is the garage. It needed to be painted because the walls and ceiling were disgustingly dirty but the whole thing is filled with man stuff. I decided Labor Day weekend would be the perfect time to do it since we would have 3 days to work on it. Jeff was out of town all that week but when he got back I convinced him to do it so we asked his parents to help. One problem though was the car is in the garage and wasn't running so he wanted to get it fixed first. Well, I'm tired of waiting on the stupid car so I told him we were painting even if we had to push the car out! He said he would get it running Sat and we would paint on Sun so that was the plan. He worked on it about half a day on Sat then the first OU football game came on at 6pm so of course all work had to stop for that which I was NOT happy about. So, the next day was Sun and he started working on the car again so I came out and started putting stuff out in the front yard. After a while, his parents got there and helped get everything out. It was hard backbreaking work and really hot and humid. Luckily, my mom came up and got Jensen for the night so we didn't have to worry about him. We had everything out including all the shelves off the wall but Jeff was having trouble getting the car running. Finally though, he got it and pulled it out last. His dad brought over a paint sprayer so it would go faster but about halfway though, the nozzle broke so his mom and I went to Lowe's and Home Depot to try to get a new one with no luck. Home Depot was closing the last trip there so I just went ahead and bought a whole new sprayer since it was already 9pm and we needed to get it done. The new sprayer was a piece of junk but it finished the job. Then came the task of getting everything out of the yard. We would have liked to sort the stuff, organize and purge before putting it back but since it was already late and dark we had to just put it back in. Jeff was really irritated about that but we had no choice. So we got everything back in and cleaned up at about midnight. What a long day! It looks soooo much better though!

I forgot to take a before picture before we started but here is one side-the other side was just as bad!
Everything out and the men spraying. If you look at the ceiling you can see what the whole garage used to look like

Jensen went next door to play with Jaci while I pulled stuff out. When he came back and saw all the stuff out there he said HOLY MOLY!

Jeff and his dad were covered head to toe in paint
I don't really have an after picture yet because the garage is still a mess but at least the walls and ceiling are white! We are so thankful for Jeff's parents for spending their whole weekend helping us. I don't know if I would be able to work that hard on someone else's house!

Baby Shower

My wonderful friends Jamie, Stephanie and Crystal threw me a great baby shower on Aug 22. We had it at the Moore Library and the decorations were brown and blue- colors I really love right now. It was so great to see so many of the people I love. Jensen went with me and wore his "Big Brother" shirt. The finger food was yummy and the cake from Johnnies was delicious. Some of my friends from MOMS Club came and they had never had their cake before so they raved about it.

Jensen got to open a present from Mimi- it kept him busy the whole time

I got some great gifts including diapers and wipes that we will go through fast
My mom offered to take Jensen for the night afterwards and I am so thankful because I was able to sort everything we got without the little Taz getting into everything. Plus Jeff and I went to dinner and got to sleep in the next morning. A pretty perfect day to me!
Went to the Dr. on Monday and nothing much to report other than I found out last week that I passed my 3hr glucose test so I don't have gestational diabetes this time YAY! I'm amazed since I thought for sure I would again so I'm very relieved not to have to follow the strick diet and test 4 times per day. My goal is to still be careful anyway so the baby and I don't get too big. I go to the Dr every 2wks now so its getting closer to delivery day!

Summer fun

I took Jensen to Lake Arcadia for the day and we had a great time swimming and playing in the sand. We stayed for a long time building sand castles and he thought it was gross fun to play in the mud in the shallow water.

One morning, we got up and went to the zoo for a little while until it got too hot then we went next door to the Omniplex science center to eat lunch and play where it was cool. Jensen absolutely loves it there and never gets bored. He rode a segway for the first time and I was very impressed that he stood in line for about 30minutes and waited patiently for his turn. I rode on one too for about the 4th time. I love those things and I think it would be fun to ride around on one all the time.

Helping Daddy mow

We invited our neighbor Jaci over for some water balloon and sprinkler time. They had a blast
This sprinkler has balls that you put in it and it shoots them up with water

Slow and steady

Weekend before last was what I called Jones liquidation day. We got rid of a lot of big stuff we didn't need anymore. We are very excited also to have a new dining room table and chairs. I think this might be the first furniture purchase we have made other than the entertainment center. Pretty sad since we've been married 7yrs and still have all hand me down stuff. The table is not fancy and was cheap but it sure makes our kitchen look a lot more modern. We got a shipment of parts for Jeff's car so he can fix it and get it out of the garage. There was an extra suprise in the box though ha ha! I sent the picture to my dad and he wrote me back and said "when can I expect to receive this package?" That made me laugh...if only it were that easy!

Jensen had fun playing in it but it wasn't too fun picking up all the mess.

Jeff's parents came over last weekend to help us with some stuff. Here are 3 generations of Jones guys working on the car. They left with a truckload of our stuff to put in their storage building so that made some room. Slow slowly but surely!

4D ultrasound

I have been looking forward to having a 4D ultrasound since before I got pregnant. I had been able to go to a couple of friends' sessions and was amazed by how clear you can see the baby. I also thought it would be neat for Jensen to be able to see the baby and hopefully make it more real for him.
The place we went is called Miracle Within and you go into a large room with a wall sized screen and a few other monitors. You can invite as many people as you want and they sit on a big sectional couch to watch. Your images from the ultrasound are much more clear than the regular 2D ones and you can see movement in real time. Afterward, you get a CD with pictures and a DVD.
So we had about 10 people go with us to see baby Jonesy. He was snuggled up against the placenta some so that's what you see on both sides of his face. There was just enough gap where we could get a good look at his face. It was so sweet when he smiled and of course, being a Jones, he stuck out his lower lip and tongue for us. We were all trying to guess who he looked like and I think he definitely has Jeff's chin and lips.

28wks

Went to the Dr. yesterday for my check-up. Jensen went with me and got to hear the heartbeat and the baby kicked while she was doing it so we heard a "thunk." Baby is still measuring a little big but I haven't gained too much weight so that is good. I did my glucose test for gestational diabetes and I failed it so looks like I have it again this time. I didn't really want to do the 3hr test but the nurse said insurance may not cover my supplies and stuff if I don't confirm I have GD. So I go back to do that next Thursday and she said there is a chance I may pass but I'm not counting on it. So looks like I will be on a super healthy diet the next few months which is probably better anyway.

28 wks- man I don't feel very big but when I see pics I think wow, that's a belly!

My only other complaint is vericose veins in my left leg that bulge and are uncomfortable. I started wearing a support belt last week so that has helped.

I tell people that Jeff has been beating me!

This is me with my friend Kathie from MOM's Club. Her little girl Hannah is about 2wks older than Jensen and now she's about 6 weeks ahead of me and expecting another girl.
I have about 80 days left and I can't set up a room since I have no idea where we will be living in the next few months and that drives me insane. We also have no idea what to name him so hopefully we will come up with something soon. This pregnancy seems to be going by so fast and I'm so not ready yet! I'm trying to enjoy every movement and kick though since I know it will be over soon.

Jeffy in the news

I'm so proud of Jeff because he works so hard to provide for us and it allows for me to be a stay at home mommy. It can be stressful for us sometimes especially when he has to work long hours but we are really lucky.

Most of this article is jibberish to me (and most people probably) but I'm really proud to see him recognized for his brains! :)
