Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are on cloud 9 and so thankful that I got a Big Fat Positive home pregnancy test on Sat YIPPEEEEE!!! After 13 cycles, fertility meds, Dr visits, and much obsessing it finally happened for us. Just in time too because the next step was the sperm analysis and I think Jeff would rather die! LOL Oh and just for the record, it did not just happen when we "relaxed and stopped stressing about it". Even though I myself have said those same words to friends before, I learned that its annoying to hear when your body is not cooperating and no amount of relaxing will make it go away. Just my 2 cents! :)

Its still very early and I probably should have waited to spill the beans but when you've been wanting this for so long its extrememly hard to keep it quiet. Looks like I will be due the first week of November so we could have a Halloween baby. Just keep your fingers crossed that it sticks and we have no complications. I go to the Dr. tomorrow to do bloodwork and talk about my Glucose test.

Valentines Day

Jeff was supposed to work on Valentines Day so we didn't make any plans but he ended up being off so we had a good family day. We went to the Omniplex science museum and had a great time. Jensen can spend hours here and it was fun having Jeff along to help explain and engineer some of the exhibits I have trouble with. After that we went to Braum's for ice cream for a special treat. We said we weren't doing gifts this year, just time together but Jeff had flowers sent to me which was a sweet, nice surprise. Jensen tells everyone they are from him and Daddy.
Jeff and Jensen building a marble run. Thank goodness, I can never figure out how to build one when just Jensen and I go.We had fun stacking the cup as high as we could then knocking them down
Here are some other random recent pics.......

My silly guys hiding in the clothes hamper he he!

I am so proud! I was in the other room and Jense came in and said look what I did Mommy. He had made a letter J for Jensen with grapes. Such a smarty pants. I told him to smile with his J and he decided to try to wink.
I had another proud mommy moment this week too. He started swim lessons and did excellent. It is one where he goes with the class by himself and he did so well going on his own and following directions. I'll post pics later.....

Construction Zone

This is the master vanity with new counter and faucet. The faucet is still not hooked up yet because the pipe under the sink doesn't line up with the faucet so Jeff has to figure some way to make it work. Jeez can't anything be easy!!

This is the guest bathroom all done with new texture and paint on the walls. I still really miss my great wallpaper I had in there but it wasn't neutral and was peeling off.

We started prepping for doing the tile in the hall/kitchen/dining room/laundry room. We removed the old tile in the front hall but the mortar stuff is still really stuck on there so we have been grinding it off with a grinder. I masked off the two doorways but the dust from grinding that stuff is unreal. We have to wear ear, eye and mouth/nose protection and it gets so thick you have to stop every 15min or so to let it clear so you can see. Incredibly messy!!! Most of it is staying in there but the rest of the house is getting a dusty too.

As you can see its a good sized area and the grinder only takes
of inches at a time so it VERY tedious

Jeff trying to chisel some away to make it easier- that didn't work very well

Me in my floor grinding gear, oh so glamorous!

Holy Tornados

We've had some crazy weather lately even for Oklahoma. Just a few weeks ago we had an ice storm with snow then this week it was a beautiful 70 degrees. Only problem was a cold front came in and brought tornados in Feb! On Tuesday it was really nice out so after Jensen woke up from nap I planned on taking him to the park but then it got really dark. My mom called luckily to tell me that there were tornado warnings in Yukon/Bethany. I turned on the tv to watch and while I was on the phone with my dad the power went out. I had to fumble to find the weather radio then Jensen and I got into the closet to wait it out just in case (Jeff was at work). Luckily it went a little north of us and we didn't have any damage. I know we are loved though because lots of people called or texted to check on us so that made me feel good! The tornado hit only about 2 miles north of us so it was a close call. Our 16yr old neighbor girl Bre was finally released from school and came over to wait to see if the other storms were going to hit us but thankfully we just got a small amount of hail.

A quick update on the house.....we have been at a little bit of a stand still because it is the busy time at Jeff's work for Valentines Day. I did have the new vanity top installed this week and it looks great. I just need to get Jeff to install the faucet. I went to look at preschools in S. OKC this week too hoping that we will be living down there by fall. I'm enrolling him at one up here too just in case. Its really hard for me not knowing where we will be grrrr!!

Recent randomness

Being silly with mommy
We went with Jamie and the girls to the Edmond Historical Society Museum where they have an awesome kids area with a general store, prairie house, jail, train station, teepee, bank and garden for the kids to pretend.

I had the honor of being invited to a baby baptism. Doug was my first boyfriend in Jr high and we have remained good friends and now I'm good friends with his spunky wife Jenny. They had a baby girl named Mia Tran last summer and so they had her baptised in the catholic church with a reception afterwards. I had never been to one before and although it was a little long and strange with all the rituals, it was over an hour without being bothered by my sweet Jensen (he stayed with Mimi).

Baby making update

Went to see the specialist a few weeks ago and I can't say I got many answers but I hope we are on the right track. I spoke with the Dr for quite a while and he said we could try a different kind of med to see if that works. In the mean time he did an ultrasound to look at my girl parts and took blood to test for thyroid and hormone problems. My parts looked normal and he could even tell that I ovulated which was really a surpise since it was a lot earlier than normal for me. My thyroid and hormone level was normal so that is good news. I also had to go to a different lab the next week and do a blood glucose test to check for diabetes since I had in during pregnancy with Jensen and I have a strong family history. I went in and drank that awful orange sugar drink and I had to sit there for 2hrs then they drew blood. When I called for my results the nurse said I have "impaired glucose intolerance" but the Dr wants to talk to me about it at a consultation in Feb. So I googled it and this is what it said:

two-hour glucose levels of 140 to 199 mg per dL on the 75-g oral glucose tolerance test. A patient is said to be under the condition of IGT when he/she has an intermediately raised glucose level after 2 hours, but less than would qualify for type 2 diabetes mellitus

and this is what to do about it:

Although some drugs can delay the onset of diabetes, lifestyle modifications play a greater role in the prevention of diabetes. Patients identified as having an IGT should exercise regularly and limit sugar intake.

So that is bad news but I can't say I'm shocked. I'm not pleased to hear my struggle to eat right will be even more difficult especially since I have a crazy sweet tooth. The Dr wants us to do some other tests but I told him we want to see if this new med works before moving on to any other treatment. That's the latest, we'll see what happens I guess. Sorry no pictures to share on this topic LOL!

Snow Days

The big news here in OK was the snow storm that visited us last week. It started sleeting at around 11am on Monday and made the roads very slick. We went to the library that morning for storytime but came straight home and stayed there the rest of the day and all day Tuesday. We had to get creative with things to do but it was kind of nice to take a break from running around. By Wednesday though we had to get out so we went to the mall for lunch and so Jensen could play. Edmond schools were out for 3 days and that included Jensen's school on Thursday. I was bummed because I had stuff planned but Jeff was home part of the day because he went in early so I at least went to the gym.

When we got home from the mall, it was pretty warm but there was still snow on the ground so we got out and played in it for a while before it melted. As you can imagine, Jensen's favorite thing about the snow was throwing snowballs. He got such a kick out of pelting me with snow and his laugh was too cute. I think he could have done that for hours but it started to get cold. I thought it was oddly gratifying to chunk stuff at him too even though a few times my aim was a little too good and I got him in the face oops. Little stinker snuck a piece of snow in the house and got me in the kitchen!

This kid has an arm!
