Bubble bath fun for Jensen

"swimming" in the bath tub- it was cold out and nothing to do so he took a swim in the tub with his goggles
Jeff's aunt and uncle took me, Jamie and the kids to their favorite restaurant in Yukon called the Big Easy where they serve cajun food. The shrimp I had was yummy!
I told them they were brave for wanting to go to restaurant with 5 kids!
Such a big boy- Jorden's first time in the exersaucer Mimi got him for Christmas. His feet doesn't quite reach the bottom yet.

Precious Julia Kate - 3wks

I'm such a mean mommy and took this picture of Jorden's naked hiney! He will hate me for it later I'm sure but its too funny!!

Smiley brothers

My old friend Doug, his wife Jenny and their little girl Mia brought dinner over and we enjoyed hanging out with them. Jenny made us tilapia and rice and I was thankful I didn't have to cook or order pizza

Ikea Road Trip

Jeff has been in an exploring mood lately so we have been taking road trips a lot. We don't have an Ikea store near us and I had been wanting to go to one to get some decorating stuff for the new house since they have cheap, cool stuff. The nearest one is in Frisco Texas so we decided to make a road trip out of it. Jeff has been working crazy hours and a lot of overnights so he got to take off last Thurs and Fri. We got on the road by 9am Friday and arrived at Ikea at about noon. We decided to eat lunch in their cafeteria first and it was pretty tasty and not as unhealthy as fast food. They even had a little kids area with little tables and cartoons playing. Pink Panther was on so Jensen and Jeff loved it. After eating we got to drop Jensen off at the playground. They give you a little pager and you come back to get your kid after an hour. I love this service since it allows you to shop in peace and Jensen had a blast. It didn't work as well for us this time though because as soon as we dropped Jensen off, Jorden was ready to eat so I spent half of that hour feeding him and didn't get to shop that long. Trying to shop at that place with Jeff and the kids was a big mistake and I only ended up buying a mirror. I wish we had an Ikea closer so I could go whenever. I'm having a lucky streak I guess though because on Wed I found a 20 dollar bill in the street in front of my house and on Friday Jensen found a 10 dollar bill in the parking lot at Ikea! We bought a couple of scratch off lottery tickets with it but didn't win anything Jensen eating in the kids area at Ikea

Jeff eating Swedish meatballs since Ikea is swedish
After Ikea, we went to Fry's which is the place Jeff wanted to go. It is like a huge geek heaven where they sell computer stuff, books, CDs, car audio, TVs, office supplies, appliances etc.
This was a funny beanie hat they sell at Fry's

After Fry's we were worn out and hungry so we wanted to get something to eat before getting on the road to head home. The rush hour traffic was a mess and I'm so glad I don't live there. We ended up eating at Humperdinks and it was good. We finally made it home at about 11pm and I'm glad to say the kids did pretty well for being in the car so long

Boo for Cavities

Jensen went to the dentist for the first time last year he wouldn't open his mouth but the second time he did great when they cleaned his teeth. This time, he got x-rays and he did awesome. The dental hygenist at Dr. Kim's office was really great and he likes her a lot. Unfortunally, the x-rays showed 2 cavities and some really big adult teeth crowding already. Dr. Kim was teasing that apparently he inherited my mouth ugh! That means fillings and I just couldn't imagine doing fillings on such a little kid but we made the appointment for today anyway. I was very anxious about it and was so worried it would hurt and he would never want to go back. He got right in the chair though and they put the topical numbing medicine on him but didn't use the gas mask like I figured they would. My heart was racing when Dr. Kim got out the big needle and I just knew Jensen was going to freak but he didn't seem to feel it so I was relieved. They had to wait a few minutes for it to kick in so they left the room. While they were out Jensen actually fell asleep, I couldn't believe it! I was worried about the drilling but he sat very still and was perfect for it too. I am so proud of him and I hope the other one goes just a smooth next week. Plus I hope he doesn't have anymore cavities!!

Camera Drama

This ended up being a long story about my camera!! I have my Iphone and camera with me pretty much at all times. I'm really clumsy though and tend to drop them sometimes. In 2007, I dropped my camera that I hadn't had for very long so when Jeff bought me a new one from Best Buy he purchased the 4-year warranty. I forgot all about it until just before Christmas when I dropped my camera on the tile. Luckily the battery door was only damaged a little and I was able to take pictures at Christmas. Jeff reminded me of the warranty and said they would probably replace it so I finally got around to taking it in around mid January. I thought it was a miracle by the way that even after the move I still had all the paperwork!! Anyway, when I took it in they said they would send it off and would call me in 1-2wks when it was fixed. I asked how on earth they expected me to live without it for that long especially since I was expecting a new niece or nephew any day grrr! My mom was a sweetheart though and let me borrow hers for that time and it really came in handy when Julia was born. About a week later, I got a message on my machine that said that it would be shipped to me so I was glad I wouldn't have to go up there. It was taking a long time then I realized that Best Buy only had my old address ooops! I called and told them and they tried to locate it but no luck so they said they would replace it since they were supposed to check for that. Good, that's what I wanted anyway he he! So I went up there and I figured they would give me the same one just a new model. Nope...they don't even sell that brand anymore so I had to pick a completely different one!! That is annoying since I have the case, big memory card and extra batteries for it. The one I got is an Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 and its called that because supposedly its shockproof which means it won't break if I drop it. I don't plan on dropping it but I figured that was my best choice especially since it takes pictures underwater too. The bad news was that it takes a completely different kind of memory card and won't fit in my camera case so I bought them at Best Buy and it cost me $60. I was mad about that because I hadn't planned on having to spend so much when they goofed up. I ended up taking the memory card and case back though and finding them WAY cheaper elsewhere. So, I'm just now getting around to downloading pictures off of it. It worked out I guess....I got a new camera and so did the people who bought our old house!

Jorden 3 months

Baby Jorden is 3 months already can you believe it! I took him to Target to get some portraits but also took some pics of him in his diaper to show how roly poly he is! He's a happy baby and smiles all the time now and will laugh sometimes. He found his thumb this week so that is just precious but I hope he doesn't get attached to it. You can tell he wants to grab at toys but hasn't quite gotten the coordination yet. He also likes to sit in his Bumbo seat but not for a long time. He likes to be held sitting up and will try to lift his head and shoulders up if you lay him on the floor.
Chubby little legs
Jorden's cheeks are so big and he seems to always have his bottom lip out! My mom reminded me that when we saw him on my 4D ultrasound, he had his bottom lip out then too. I just hope he's not like Bubba Gump his whole life!

This little hat with ears is so cute on him

Target pictures
I wanted to get some with Mommy since I don't have many of me with him

"I am done having my picture taken, leave me alone!"

Snow storm 2.0

The weather people warned us all week that we would be getting a major snow storm and everyone needed to stock up on supplies and prepare for power outages. Once again we were'nt sure if they were just being dramatic or if it would be like it was on Christmas Eve. The stores were crazy busy though with people buying supplies. It started on Thursday and this time it started out as freezing rain which put a thick coat of ice on everything before it started snowing. The schools cancelled Thursday classes even before it started raining so Jensen missed school that day and we stayed home. Jamie came over to pick him up though so he and the girls could go play at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They had a blast and I got a lot done around the house. Jeff doesn't mind driving in the snow so we decided to get out and go have dinner on Friday. There were lots of people sledding down the hills next to the highway and it looked like so much fun... I was jealous. One of my favorite memories as a kid was when we went to do that. I took Jensen out in front to play in the snow and I made a little sled out of our old recycle bin and a truck tie down. I pulled him down the street and he slid really fast on the on the ice/snow. Valentine's Day is coming up so Jeff has had to work overnight almost everyday so I was nervous with him driving on the icy roads.

Jensen with his Walmart sacks on his feet. He thought I was crazy but he doesn't have any snow boots and when I was a kid we used bread bags so I knew these would keep his feet dry.
Ice covered everything and we had fun knocking big sheets of ice off of the cars and house

Our makeshift sled worked pretty well but we didn't have a hill nearby. Jensen insisted on trying to pull me in it but that didn't work at all!

They are covered in snow so you can't see them but the purple boots Jeff got me for Christmas have really come in handy

Looong icicle out back

Pretty snow looking out the back door

Those icicles got really long

Jeff trying to knock some of the snow/ice down so it wouldn't make the roof leak
Luckily, we didn't lose power and we were able to get out when we wanted. The schools ended up being out 4 days so Jensen missed on Tueday too but the roads were fine except the neighborhoods. He was ready to go back on Thursday.

Welcome Baby Julia Kate

It's a GIRL! Our niece Julia Kate Jones was born on January 19, 2010. She weighed 6lbs 13oz (not 8 or 9lbs like the doctors thought) and she was 20inches long. We are all shocked that Jamie and Jerry were able to wait to find out the gender of their baby. Especially Jamie since she will admit that she's the most inpatient person ever! It drove me crazy not knowing but now she is here and big sisters Jenna and Jillian are happy to help cuddle her.
I don't have very many pictures yet because unfortunately I was unable to be there for the birth. I am so sad I missed it but Jorden came down with RSV so I had to stay away. He woke up that morning with a rattling sound in his chest and I knew that wasn't normal and called the Dr. They said to bring him in since he's so young and RSV is common this time of year. So, the plan was to take him to the Dr really quick after taking Jensen to school then go up to the hospital for the birth. Jamie went in at midnight to be induced so I hoped she wouldn't deliver before I could get there. I figured they would tell me Jorden just had a cold but he tested positive for RSV which can be very dangerous for babies, especially newborns so that meant I could not go up to the hospital. I finally got to meet Miss Julia that night after Jeff got home and I put the boys to bed. Jamie had a really easy birth and was able to go home the next day.

Julia Kate looks a lot like her sisters

Caught her with her tongue out!
I think she looks like Jerry in this pic Jorden finally got to meet his new cousin and future playmate. He looks huge next to her but she's a Jones so I'm sure she will be a chunky baby very soon!
3 girls, wow poor Jerry!

We got really lucky and Jorden didn't have very many symptoms of RSV except a little runny nose and a cough a few times a day. We had to give him an inhaler 4 times a day and big brother Jensen enjoyed doing that. I guess Jeff and Jensen had it too because they had coughs and runny noses. I think Jorden is over it now and we are keeping our fingers crossed we all stay well.
